October Tricep Toner Challenge

October calls for trick-or-treating…and tricep toning! Here’s a little challenge to keep your motivation high. With a healthy attitude, you’ll be able to crush those sugar cravings, indulge moderately throughout the holidays, and keep right on toning!

To do a tricep push-up, get into a four-arm plank with arms extended, hands about six inches apart inside shoulders. Start on your knees until you feel strong. Lower chest towards floor by bending elbows straight back next to your sides, keeping your back straight. Push back up until arms are almost straight and repeat.

August Mermaid Challenge

Here she is, the last monthly challenge of the summer! Mermaids are only appropriate. This move strengthens abs, obliques, and legs all at the same time! Save, pin, or print the calendar and complete throughout the month. Here’s how to mermaid: lay on your side, head on one arm. Lift legs slightly off floor and cross ankles. Lift and lower legs, keeping straight and together (using abdominal muscles) for time allotted. Then flip to the other side and repeat, working yourself up to one minute on each side! Stay strong, tight, and focus on the abs. Bring it on, August.

June Mountain Climber Challenge

Get ready to climb because it’s all about the high intensity interval training this month! Your heart rate will climb right into the fat-burning zone. Mountain climbers can be done anywhere, anytime. They’ll increase endurance while toning your entire core. Start from a plank position, shoulders above wrists, feet hip-width apart. Bend your knee and pull it in to reach your opposite elbow, while maintaining a strong and straight plank position. Repeat the movement on the other side and push yourself to maintain a high-speed, reaching your max heart rate. By July 4th, you’ll whip yourself right into tip-top shape for summer! June Challenge

Hampton Gym Corp.’s Launch Weekend!

This weekend brings another weekend of celebration to the Hamptons…it’s Hamptons Gym Corp’s Launch Weekend! That means free classes, bring a friend, awesome team and group teaching, new tracks, and lots more! In case you haven’t tried Hamptons Gym Corp’s awesome group fitness classes, you really should get over there this weekend!

HGCHGC is one of the only fitness destinations with a vast variety of group fitness classes in addition to personal training, and a full weight-lifting and cardio room for your own routines. There’s always something going on at HGC, whether you’re looking for group classes, spin, strength-training, Latin fun, upper body, lower body, yoga and stretching, abs and glutes, and more. With three locations throughout the Hamptons, you can drop into a group fitness class in Sag Harbor, (1 Bay Street) Southampton (395 County Road 39A) or get your own workout in at their East Hampton location (2 Fithian Ln.)

This weekend is your chance to try a class (or two or three!) absolutely free! I’ll warn you, HGC’s group fitness classes are pretty addicting, but that’s ok because an annual or monthly class membership pays for ALL classes! I’m a huge fan of Les Mill’s Body Combat, Body Flow, and Body Pump, and can’t wait to try all they have to offer! HGC’s fitness instructors are skilled professionals with LOTS of energy; they’ll pump you up and give you a great workout every single time.
